Implementation/Program Grant
Once states have been approved for a successful planning grant and their planning phase has been completed, they will move onto the program grant. Lumina Foundation will commit up to $170,000 over a three-year period to eligible groups working to replicate the College Goal Sunday program in their states. The precise amount of the grant will depend on the size of the population to be served, the scope of the program as proposed, and the availability of local funding to supplement the Lumina Foundation® grant.
Once the program grant package is submitted, states will be notified and when accepted, funds will be disbursed.
Through a grant process funded by Lumina Foundation for Education, College Goal Sunday has assisted thousands of families with access to higher education opportunities and, through the national efforts of NASFAA, College Goal Sunday will be expanded to other states.
Budget
States will be expected to include in-kind monetary or service matches for the grant. These in-kind matches should be included in the “Total Non-Lumina Support” section of the program budget.
Although acceptance of a grant is for a three-year period, each year’s renewal will be based upon required reports and evaluations. An attendee survey is included under Forms and Resources. States will be required to track results and report annually on their programs and finances as a condition of renewal. Several factors will be considered in evaluating programs to determine future funding.
