As College Goal Sunday is a volunteer program, NASFAA understands that both time and assistance is needed in both the planning and implementation phases. This is why NASFAA has a person designated to work with states in becoming a successful College Goal Sunday state.
Step-by-step assistance will be given to states as they plan their first College Goal Sunday and also beyond the three-year grant period in the following areas:
- Initial inquiries
- Timeline
- Grant and budget development
- Logo usage
- Convening a task force or steering committee
- Developing partnerships and collaborations
- Identifying and contacting local funders
- Outreach strategies to families
- Role responsibilities for state-wide coordinator and state-wide site coordinators
- Recruiting volunteers
- Contracting with a local PR firm
- Determining site needs, i.e. materials, t-shirts, volunteers
- Evaluation and report requirements
- Contact information with other College Goal Sunday states
- Web site support
- Troubleshooting
