As College Goal Sunday is a volunteer program, NASFAA understands that both time and assistance is needed in both the planning and implementation phases. This is why NASFAA has a person designated to work with states in becoming a successful College Goal Sunday state.

Step-by-step assistance will be given to states as they plan their first College Goal Sunday and also beyond the three-year grant period in the following areas:

  • Initial inquiries
  • Timeline
  • Grant and budget development
  • Logo usage
  • Convening a task force or steering committee
  • Developing partnerships and collaborations
  • Identifying and contacting local funders
  • Outreach strategies to families
  • Role responsibilities for state-wide coordinator and state-wide site coordinators
  • Recruiting volunteers
  • Contracting with a local PR firm
  • Determining site needs, i.e. materials, t-shirts, volunteers
  • Evaluation and report requirements
  • Contact information with other College Goal Sunday states
  • Web site support
  • Troubleshooting
